Heading north for fun!
In this print we view the wharf at the Longport, New Jersey transfer point c 1905. Longport is located on the southern tip of Absecom Island. Because Ocean City was a religious resort and vacationers wanted more excitement, they would take the shuttle boats north across Great Egg Harbor Inlet to Longport. In Longport they would catch the trolley to Atlantic City.
