A great view of the Train Depot in Little Silver, NJ c 1905. Little Silver was first settled in the 1660's and there are two versions on how it received it's name. One is that it was named after the founders fathers estate in Rhode Island and the other that it was named after Lita Silva's a famous brothel in the area. The borough has had a varied history as a resort, agricultural area and fishing town. The Train Station on Sycamore Avenue was designed by the noted American architect Henry Hobson Richardson and built in 1890. It reopened after renovations in 2003.
