Great place for a wedding!
This vintage art work shows the Essex House Hotel in 1947, which was located on Broad Street across from Lincoln Park. It was billed as Newark's "smartest hotel". It also boasted outstanding banquet facitlies, and many will remember weddings held here. Before it was torn down in the early 1970's, it housed resident students from Newark College of Engineering (now NJIT) before the college built dormatories of their own.
