Where's the traffic?
In this image we see the main street of Berkeley Heights as it appeared in 1900. Springfield Avenue was a major trail dating back to the Lenni-Lanape Indians. Through the years it has been known as Turkey Road, Valley Road to New Providence, Liberty Street and the Farmers Turnpike. On the left in this image we see Del Ducas General Store at the corner of Springfield Avenue and Plainfield Avenue.
