What a way to view the Boardwalk.
A vintage view of the famous Rolling Chairs on the Boardwalk in Atlantic City, New Jersey as they were circa 1927. The first section of the Atlantic City Boardwalk was opened in 1870. It was built to keep the sand out of the railroad cars and hotels. It was removable in the winter months. The Rolling Chairs arrived in 1884 and were the only vehicles allowed on the Boardwalk. These chairs are still in operation in Atlantic City today.
