After calling four different stadiums home in their first 50 years in the National Football League, the Giants moved into Giants Stadium in 1976. The Giants played their first game there on October 10, 1976, hosting a losing game with the Dallas Cowboys. Since 1984 the Giants have shared the Stadium with the New York Jets. Over the years the stadium has played host to many other professional and college teams as well many entertainers and even Pope John Paul II. A new stadium is due to open early in 2010.
